This release is a demo of the upcoming full-length album that I'll be producing soon. The approach for this demo was enhancing a rawer atmosphere through the production, but for the album I'll be taking a different approach.

Téleos represents a series of reflections on nature and its order, understood as a performance of the human intellect. Considering this, it is possible to inquire about two problems: the meaning of surrendering to the whims of deities (via religions or pseudoscience) produced by that same intellect, and what it implies for humans to seek mastery over nature, a goal pursued since the dawn of Modernity.

Téleos is about addressing the urgency of reclaiming responsibility for our actions as rational agents, in a time when the survival of the world's living species depends on it. This demands an abandonment of pseudoscience and technical ambition to master nature, as well as naive scientism as a metaphysical basis for understanding the natural order.

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone. De l'action de descendre sciemment vers le néant au constat simple, lancé dans un dernier soupir, comme si on était mis devant le fait accompli : There is no beauty left here... Mais contre toute attente, ce chant du cygne d'Exiled from Light n'est pas une acceptation résignée de la mort. Mort (je parle de l'artiste) est animé de l'énergie du désespoir, cette énergie qui fait accomplir des choses extraordinaires quand tout est perdu et ça rend son DSBM très beau, paradoxalement.
